Samsung UN40D6000 BEST PRICE, LIKE IT.
In general I like the product. I do have some problems. There was no User Manual in the package nor was there an "Lan" Wireless adapter which I believe is included. After setting up the unit I am still struggling with a digital connection which I thought would be available without an additional box but so far
is still a mystery.

I want to start off by saying that the Samsung LN40C650 tv set is great. The picture quality is awesome, local and internet streaming work perfectly, and I was extremely satisfied with this unit, until...
About a week after my 1 year warranty expired, I began to have problems with the ethernet adapter on the tv. I called Samsung to see what troubleshooting steps I could take to resolve my issue. The problem was that no matter what cable I used or what port on the router was used, the tv could not connect to my network. (Keep in mind that I am a network technician and understand how networks work, and knew exactly what the problem was.) After relaying that same information to multiple agents when calling Samsung, every time I called they wanted me to go through the same troubleshooting steps. I informed them that the problem was with the ethernet adapter on the television. When the tv was plugged in, the router light would never come on, and it would never get an IP address from my router. To test this, I plugged in a laptop using that same cable, and it immediately worked without any problems. So I knew that the ethernet port was the problem and not my router (which I have two routers, and tried both of them).
So, after speaking with multiple reps at Samsung, I finally spoke to an agent who I believed was going to help me. Myself and the agent went through the same troubleshooting steps, but still unable to resolve the issue. So he asked if I had registered my product to be eligible to have my warranty extended for 3 months. I told him that I had registered, and he looked up that information successfully. I even received an email stating that my warranty had been extended for three months. The agent then proceeded to get a work order so that a technician would contact me to setup service. At this point, I am under the impression that I will be covered under the extended 3-months. (To make a long story short) I received a call from the Samsung technician in my area, and stated that Samsung did not inform him that my tv was under warranty and stated that Samsung would have to send documentation that it is still under warranty. So I contacted Samsung, once again, and I was told that since the unit was out of the first year warranty, I would not be able to have my tv repaired, and that I would be responsible for the service if I decided to have it serviced. I even forwarded the email that I received about my extended 3 months of warranty to the Samsung rep, and was told that they could not honor that warranty, and I would be responsible for the service.
I am not here to bash Samsung for the way I was treated. I understand that I was out of my warranty at the time when I started having issues, and I understand that they technically do not have to provide me with anything. I am simply writing this to inform potential buyers of my issues with this television set and how my issues was 'resolved' by Samsung. This is more to inform you about the company, more than it is about this specific product, which if the one i purchased.
I reiterate, this product looks fantastic. It has the ability to stream Netflix, Hulu, MLB.TV, Youtube, etc. I even have a few DLNA applications(such as PlayOn, Twonky, and a Windows Home Server with built in Media Server capabilities) and this television played all of my media (videos, music, and photos) that were located on my server and my main computer.
But, please be informed that if you begin to have issues, even just a day out of your warranty, you are on your own.

Samsung UN40D6000 Amazing TV!
I just received our Samsung UN40D6000 and I must say, the set up was was a breeze and the picture quality is amazing. This TV is an upgrade from a 32" JVC tube tv so you can imagine the difference in the picture quality. Many options with the set up for sound and picture color. Remote is easy to learn and navigate. Sound is amazingly good. I highly recommend this TV. Great price through Amazon, Free Shipping! Most stores near our home are asking at least $100.00 more vs the Amazon prices.

The TV was easy to set up. The remote is not complicated and the menus are somewhat easy to navigate. Given the price and free shipping, I have no complaints.

I have had this magnificent product for two months and I am very pleased with it. It was two weeks before I was able to receive HD programing and during that time it was almost as awesome as it is now with the HD programming. I am of an older generation but have been into technology since the early eightys and I still marvel at the advances that are being made today. Let's hope it has longevity to add to it's attractiveness.

I recently purchased this TV to use in my bedroom (small space - roughly 13' x 19')I decided to go with either a 40" or a 42" due to my room layout. I recently purchased the Samsung UN46C8000 46-Inch 1080p 3D 240 Hz LED HDTV
for my living room but still figured I would ship around to find the best 40"-42" TV for around $800.
After going to multiple big box retailers to compare TV's I settled on either theLG 42LE5400 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with Internet Applications I could find no discernible difference in picture quality (1080P Blu-ray of MegaMind), except when playing around with the dynamic contrast settings on both devices (something I use due to the varying light conditions my room goes through. I found Samsung's dynamic setting to be much less noticeable as it changes lighting settings and not as jarring when switching from scene to scene.
That being said the Tv's picture quality is not as great as my living room set, but from the get go I didn't need it to be.
Both the LG 42" and Samsung 40" score high in usability regarding their respective remotes. I noticed the Samsung has a button to turn the back-lighting on without pressing a random button, something which i may have forgotten to notice on the LG remote.
My ps3 is hooked up to this TV and the response time from input to Ps3 to screen is immeasureable and performs just as well as my living room set.
Setup was easy and attaching it to the stand took me less than 8 minutes after opening the box with an automatic screwdriver.Black & Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-Volt Nicad Cordless Screwdriver with Articulating Head I changed the audio settings to Movie and the picture settings to Dynamic and was ready to go. The Tv is incredibly light, which i suspect will make it really easy to mount in the near future. Amazon VoD and Netflix work flawlessly for me through the ethernet port.
I will revise this review if anything comes up positive or negative in the future.

I was initially very frustrated with the inability of Samsung to provide correct information about the screw size needed to mount the TV on a wall mount.
The mounting screw required is a M8 15mm 1.25 pitch. I used a hex bolt from a local big box hardware store with a blue exterior.
Once on the wall I found the picture to be very good for the money.
I have successfully used the samsung wiso9abgn wireless adapter to connect to an Apple Airport Extreme wireless network. I followed advice on the net and set my SSID with all lower case letters and the TV accepted my wireless key without trouble.
My initial review reflected frustration with poor Samsung customer service and concerns regarding connecting to the wireless network. Now that those problems have been solved I am happy with the purchase.

I've crept over the line into the 21st Century with my first-of-a-kind purchase of this television technology. I really shopped around on this purchase, read everything I could find, visited the Big Box store to take a peek at it and its competitors, asked my questions, and spent weeks weighing this and that. As a consequence, my expectation of what this TV would be is such that I'm grinning and suffering no buyer's remorse the day after I unboxed it and set it up in under 15 minutes. There may be "better" models out there, but not at this price. I'm not into shock-and-awe when it comes to the video experience. My wife and I didn't require a room-wide screen spanning floor to ceiling blasting in-theater sound to thoroughly enjoy our first evening with high definition, LED TV in our household. This TV at this price and with these specs ought to do it for any rational human being.

We've had great experience with Samsung quality before, so we decided on this unit even though others were a bit cheaper. It has not disappointed... the picture quality is terrific, and the TV itself is thin, beautiful & practically disappears, as you feel you are seeing only the picture.
Plenty of inputs for all devices... but this is where we ran into our only problem. It is not nearly clear enough when purchasing that if you want wireless internet connection for the Smart TV features, you must have a wireless USB adapter, which does not come with this model (it does with the next sizes up). That's another $80 to buy. We did that, and even then it was near impossible to connect with the router through the Settings menus. Finally gave up and tried a different solution, which was to purchase Ethernet connectors for the electrical outlets (another $100). That set up automatically in seconds, and has worked perfectly. Netflix works great. But the design and organization of the Smart TV features seem way too complex and difficult to navigate.

The picture quality has always been utterly exceptional and without comparison for this TV. However, I have a very keen eye and will still at times notice the light leaking issue during EXTRA widescreen videos where the light is on the top and bottom borders and is darkest. I think that I am going to continue hanging on to this TV, however, notwithstanding this one issue - although I am currently weighing the matter as it compares to the price and timing for this investment for me now. If I do contact Samsung, I would only want this same model again. Videophiles may just want to keep this light leakage issue in mind for their purchase.

Samsung has produced a great LED LCD TV. The slim design slipped easily into the limited space I have. Very easy to connect all the accessories, cable box, DVR, and sound amp. Out of the box to up and running less than half hour. Turned it on and was wowed by the picture (digital) with no further adjustments needed. Then got a HD cable box and was simply blown away. I have not taken advantage of the WiFi feature but hope to soon.
The only negative is the remote control which is not programable for non-Samsung products.
